BUUK has topped the 2021 GRESB sustainability benchmarking report with a five-star rating and ‘sector leader’ positioning for its environmental, social and governance performance. This is the second year that BUUK has been rated by the benchmarking scheme and the company has managed to improve upon its previously high score.

As the UK’s leading utility networks connections provider, BUUK is committed to limiting its impact on the environment and to contributing positively to society and the communities in which it is based and works. Benchmarking sustainability enables BUUK to highlight areas for improvement and to identify and implement proven best practice.

John Smith, Group Sustainability (ESG) Strategy Manager at BUUK, says: “The transition to a sustainable world is a fundamental issue for business and community alike. The utilities industry is a key player in this move and the GRESB data allows BUUK to make intelligent and informed changes and to understand how best to meet the challenges faced.”

The five-star rating achieved by BUUK is the highest level of recognition and sector leaders are the best performers by sector, region, and nature of ownership across the GRESB assessments. BUUK Infrastructure was named Sector Leader in the Diversified Superclass. The benchmarking shows sustainability performance globally, across business sectors, against 2,200 other organisations.
